About the Game : Dreamscape

Welcome to Dreamscape, a thrilling and immersive PvP card game that transports players into the whimsical and sometimes perilous world of dreams. Our game is designed for 3 to 6 players and combines strategic card play with a captivating narrative, challenging players to guide characters through the dreamscape, confront fears, and ultimately escape back to the waking world.

The Concept

In this game, you were once an ordinary human, peacefully asleep, until your consciousness was abruptly transported to the chaotic and unstable realm known as the Dreamscape. Here, there is neither order nor logic, as the world around you can transform in an instant.

You were brought here by a Dreamweaver—a former captive like yourself, who can guide sleeping humans through unstable dreams, enabling them to wake up. Anyone trapped here must assume the role of a Dreamweaver if they hope to escape and awaken themselves.

Successfully guide a human, and both you and your human will return to the waking world as you once were. Fail, and you remain trapped in the Dreamscape, while your unfortunate human is tormented by nightmares of their deepest fears, becoming ensnared in the Dreamscape just like you.

In this twisted game, you are pitted against other Dreamweavers and their chosen humans, and only one pair of Dreamweaver and human can successfully wake up.

Gameplay Overview

Objective: The primary goal in Dreamscape is to obtain 8 Sleep Points (SP) to wake your character up. Players may also eliminate each other by reducing another player's SP to -8. The first player to possess 8 SP, or the last player standing wins the game.

Core Mechanics:

• Character Cards: Each player selects a character, each with an ability unique to them that can help traverse the Dreamscape & give you an advantage over the other players.

• Phobia Cards: These cards Phobias come in 3 categories: People, Nature, & Surroundings. Having 3 or more of the same category of Phobia puts your character in a state of Paranoia, which prevents them from using their ability. If at any point a player owns 2 of the same Phobia, they discard 1 of them & lose 1 SP.

• Action Cards: These cards make up the core gameplay, allowing players to gain SP, force other players to lose SP & gain Phobias, etc.

• Sleep Meter: This meter tracks a player's journey through the dreamscape. Players start at zero and must reach +8 to escape. Falling to -8 means being trapped in a nightmare and being eliminated from the game.
